The Director, Business Development reports to the EVP, Managing Director of Business Development and is responsible for the development and ongoing management of all new business plans and activities for which increased revenues/profits will be realized, while upholding the mission and values of the Agency.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with New Business and other agency teams on RFP’s, meetings, presentations, etc.
  • Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on new market / business leads and opportunities.
  • Manages multiple new business prospect engagements for key agency executives.
  • Assists in defining objectives and goals for Business Development team; Recommends and establishes strategic and/or tactical new business marketing plans. Assists in recommending, establishing, and being accountable to implement strategic and / or tactical new business marketing plans designed to achieve agency goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates market research and adjusts new business strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Digital Marketing and lead management. Oversee ongoing outreach, lead nurturing, managing relationships with high-value prospects. Help further develop and enhance our prospect database.
  • Works to ensure that all communications and materials reflect the agency brand personality.
  • Responsible for the development, execution and ongoing management of agency marketing plans, inclusive of outbound marketing, social media channels, website, CRM platform and all associated content.
  • Facilitates agency pitch process and supports cross-functional pitch teams as needed. Works collaboratively with other agency offices in co-pitches or assists with their RFP’s , pitches, etc.
  • Coordinate planning and development of basic agency materials — kits, brochures, pocket pieces, boards, etc. — and assist where appropriate in developing any new or special materials needed for initial new business meetings. Develops and maintains library of current agency credentials, case studies and marketing materials.
  • Advocates knowledge of and supports the agency’s mission, culture, confidentiality, standards, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience with increasing responsibility in agency account management or business development required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data. Ability to write reports, presentations, RFP responses and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present results to clients, prospects, senior management and other employees of the organization.
  • Strong analytic skills: Ability to analyze results of agency marketing efforts and make concrete recommendations for optimization and enhancement.
