Assistant Media Planner

The Assistant Media Planner is an integral part of the Partners & Simons Contact Planning offering, responsible for the development and execution of media campaigns including support in strategy development, inventory research, ad trafficking, reporting and invoicing.

The position involves working closely with the extended Media team, as well as account management, creative, measurement and interactive resources on programs that achieve tangible results for our clients. It is a great opportunity to gain valuable media planning experience and contribute to strategic program development.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist the media team with day-to-day operations, including media research and analysis, planning, buying, campaign administration and reporting
  • Communicate with client on smaller initiatives under the supervision of the Media Planner and/or Media Supervisor
  • Prepare and update media flowcharts and purchase authorizations
  • Create presentations on media opportunities to be sent to client
  • Campaign execution tasks including: Inventory procurement, rate negotiation, insertion order development, spec gathering and ad trafficking
  • Provide continuous oversight of in-market programs, including issue resolution, creative optimizations and make-goods
  • Supports development of campaign performance reporting and analysis/recommendations
  • Contributes to competitive/landscape assessments
  • Works with other team members to ensure campaigns are executed successfully, on time and within client budgets

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years media planning experience (digital and/or traditional channels)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, with experience developing spreadsheets, managing larger amounts of data and digital files including Powerpoint.
  • Experience/familiarity with the following media tools: MRI, Ad serving platforms (Mediaplex, Doubleclick), Google Analytics
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills
  • Is a self starter and actively seeks opportunities to help other team members
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast paced environment and maintain attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
